Why counselling or psychotherapy?

My clients come because they value the opportunity to talk in a confidential, comfortable and safe environment to a professional offering an objective and therapeutic perspective.  Whether this is your first experience of therapy and you don't know what to expect, or if you have tried counselling or psychotherapy before, I help you feel at ease so you can explore what is troubling you.

What can you explore with me?

We can explore situations related to any aspect of your personal life and relationships, your working life, or your social life.  Look below to see what experiences we can work with, or click on Counselling and Psychotherapy to find out more about how I work.

The experience of talking with me differs from talking to family, friends or loved ones; with me you can say exactly what you feel without fear of hurting or upsetting those you care about.  My purpose is not to judge; rather, I seek to clarify and illuminate your concerns by engaging in a frank and questioning dialogue.  An analytic dialogue within a caring relationship is what many clients have found helpful.

If you feel you have reached a point of crisis and are uncertain about whether couselling and psychotherapy might be helpful, or want to talk through options for finding a way forward, you might find a "Crisis Intervention Session" helpful. For more details click here.
