Juliet Lyons, Associate Child Psychotherapist
Juliet is a Child Psychotherapist with a passion for supporting families' emotional wellbeing . She works with parents and children of all ages, providing skilled emotional support and guidance. She works with individuals, children or family groups, including parent-child psychotherapy.
You may want to consider Child Psychotherapy if your child is showing signs of distress at home or school or if as a parent/s you are struggling in your relationship with your child. Juliet works with difficulties which include pre and postnatal distress, birth trauma, aggressive behaviours, ADHD, autism, divorce and separation, adoption, bereavement and loss, eating disorders, separation anxiety, selective mutism, obsessive behaviours and self-harm.
Juliet completed an MA in Integrative Child Psychotherapy at the Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE). Her integrative training combines psychodynamic, humanistic, play and art therapies. With young children in particular, she encourages the use of arts as a way to express and explore feelings. She has an interest in Jungian psychology, is a baby massage instructor and a school counsellor.
Juliet brings 10 years experience working with children and parents in nurseries, for Sure Start, in schools and with learning disabilities. She also has BAs in Fine Art (Byam Shaw School of Art) and History of Art (Cambridge University). She has completed a six-month psychiatric placement with the NHS and is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
