LGBTQ+ Psychotherapy in London

It is natural to struggle sometimes, everyone can find themselves wanting some help and then gender, sex and sexuality can bring its own set of challenges. Here at Nicholas Rose & Associates we offer a counselling and therapy service face to face in Chiswick or Online for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer + clients. If you’re an adolescent, young person, individual or partners looking for a counsellor with experience and understanding then you can relax knowing you are in the right place.

LGBTQ+ clients come to us for many reasons, often specific to the issues of sexuality and gender diversity. Examples include  depression and anxiety that first occurred in teenage years, difficulties in coming out, the after affects of homophobic bullying, sexual, psychological or violent abuse, low self confidence and relationship problems that they think are connected to their sexuality.

Sometimes our clients do not bring issues specific to their sexuality but prefer to meet with a therapist who is familiar in working with LGBTQ+ clients. Our team of therapists has experience of working with issues connected with sexuality and you can ask to see a gay therapist if you think you will feel more comfortable.

We use an integrative framework that is further informed by an existential perspective. In deepening our understanding we will offer you perspectives based upon the major theoretical approaches and then work with you to identify and implement any changes.

I feel like a different person. No, I feel I now recognise the person I've been all along - and I'm proud of her. My time with Nicholas has transformed the way I view the world and how I interact with it. I'd recommend the process to anyone. Genuinely life changing. Nicholas was transparent re the cognitive process at work, he involved me in his application of theory and I found this very powerful. But at the same time he was full of empathy. The sessions were both healing and productive. Thank you.

As we work together we will encourage you to consider what you are finding helpful so that we can further focus our efforts in the most constructive way. View our Counselling and Psychotherapy FAQ page for more answers or Contact Us to speak one on one.

Online Psychotherapy using chat, Skype, Zoom and FaceTime

Some of our clients prefer online Psychotherapy and we can offer you a choice of chat, video - Zoom, Skype and FaceTime or telephone based sessions. Initially we will start with an assessment session where you can decide with your therapist if further sessions might be helpful. Usually after six sessions you will review how things are going and if you are finding the sessions helpful you continue. Sessions end when you agree with your therapist that your concerns have been addressed.
