Kati Mencer - Associate Children Services
Kati is a Psychotherapeutic Child and Parent Counsellor, working with children and their families.
She has been providing child-centred psychotherapy in New York in inner city schools, and now in London in schools and in private practice. She works with both children and parents on various issues such as displaying behaviour that is regarded as a problem by parents or in school. Children who may be difficult to control, lack confidence, insecure, victim of bullying, withdrawn, anxious, witnessed trauma, and who have experienced loss through bereavement, family breakdown, divorce or separation.
Kati absolutely adores children and is passionate about their well-being. She works with the child in mostly non-directive way, allowing the child to explore their emotions in a safe and trusting environment. Depending on the child’s needs Kati uses different modalities to support the child the best possible ways. Kati also works with the parents separately to help them to form stronger relationship with their child.
Kati has many years of experience with working with children and families as a Montessori practitioner, head of school and teacher trainer. She also trained as a child Parent Relationship Therapy Facilitator to promote better relationships between the child and her care-givers. Kati is a member of the BPS (British Psychological Society), and BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) holds an MSc in Counselling Children and Families, BA in Education and Montessori Diploma.
