Food Addiction

Addictive behaviours toward food can often start out as just a coping mechanisms but it can spiral out of control and turn into an addiction or eating disorder. If you believe that your eating has become problematic and you find it's taking over your life then our sessions would be the ideal place for you to discuss this. In addition to weight loss or gain you can often pick up on addictive behaviour if it's effecting other aspects of living, in a bad way, such as relationships with friends or family, work, education, health. Being addicted to food is a very difficult thing for sufferers and they often feel judged and ashamed, but a food addiction is nothing to feel ashamed about as it can effect anyone for any number of reasons. Counselling and Psychotherapy provides an objective and non-judgemental space in which to explore your food addiction and understand it with a view to developing ways to manage and alleviate its effects.
