What is Integrative Psychotherapy?
Integrative Counsellors and Psychotherapists are trained and experienced in talking and reflecting with you about your concerns through the principle psychological theoretical perspectives. There are very many approaches and therapies however they can be grouped into three main areas - psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural.
For example you might find it helpful to think about your concerns through reflecting on earlier life experiences and familial relationships, or you might prefer to have therapy whereby you speak about whatever is concerning you at that moment or you may want to focus on changing a particular behaviour or pattern.
In our expereince we often find that clients will often wish to think through their concerns by drawing on all three approaches.
What to expect in sessions?
We will work with you to gain an understanding of your concerns in terms of how your experience them emotionally, cognitively, physically and how you respond behaviorally. Through dialogue we will seek to help you identify what might be helpful to change and then work with you to implement the changes. Implementation or integration is a key stage in the work and we will support you though this part of the process.
